Philippine Army at MOA

Last March 15, 2009, we went to MOA just to stroll around and do the groceries. But to our surprise, the Philippine Army had their caravan exhibit at the bay area of Mall of Asia. They showcased and displayed the things they use in their work: their tanks, armored personnel carriers (APC), hummer, tanks, etc. People will be treated to a ride in the APC around the bay area. You just have to fall in line and wait for your turn for the ride.

The soldiers were happy to shows us around, show the pictures of their missions, try their helmet, carry their guns, (but you have to be at least 18 years old), their bags. etc. You can also have your pictures with their K9 dogs, a close look at the bombs, a try with the harness/rappeling gadgets.

The Charms of Palawan

We have been to Puerto Princesa, Palawan and stayed at hotel because it is the nearest to our branch. It was business with pleasure on the side. We just need to see the beauty that Palawan has to offer. With a very hectic schedule, we talked to our friend and asked how to make it possible for us to do two of the best itineraries in just one day: Underground River and Island Hopping starting at Honda Bay.
We got up at 5am and readied ourselves. We have the whole Toyota van just for the 3 of us. It was about 2 hours of trip. The tour guide briefed us of what to expect from the trip. Then we were given the chance to sleep also. They knew that we hardly slept. Excited!
First Stop. Underground River. This is the famous underground river that almost made it to the 7 wonders of the world poll in the internet. It was magnificent. You can just marvel at God’s awesome work.
Then we went island hopping. We stopped on a particular reef and did some snorkeling. Same with other islands. Of course, photo op galore. . .

Summer in Boracay

I have traveled to and from several places in the Philippines for years now but i have never been to BOracay beaches? Odd, right? I just don't have the time previously.

But prayers answered. My generous sister surprised me with a Vacation package in Boracay last summer of 2008, to my delight. She gave me a first class airfare ticket from Philippine Airlines. Traveled by bus for 2 hours from Caticlan to the Pier of Boracay, where a ferry would transfer you to the island itself. It would be a less than 15 mins ride. Then I finally I got to go the premier beach resorts in the world and enjoy the food, the drinks/cocktails, the view, the beach and most especially, our time together.
While there, we checked the hotels, cottages we saw in the net. We asked their prices and checked out their facilities and amenities, their promo packages. We also checked the budget inns, cheap accommodation but excellent service. We might go back there and tour our balikbayan friends and relatives, the luxurious one and the low-cost trips, too.

Rappeling at Camp Sabros

For our final adventure in Camp Sabros, we tried the rappeling. Fortunately, the owner of Camp was there to personally supervise and assist us in rappeling from the top of the 80-foot tree.

Going to that tree is a new experience by itself. Your harness will be hooked to the zipline and you'll swing your way to the top of the tree. Gravity will bring you there.

At the top of the tree, you will be assisted again by Edwin and his staff. Safety first, they will hook you to anything, to the bench, to the tree) and give you few minutes to adore nature. The view from there is sooooo spectacular, breathtaking!

GOD is so GREAT . . .HIS WORK IS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

Zipline, zipping in Davao, anyone?

Afraid of heights? Me too! But I faced my fear head on. Hahaha

We got up early for our 2-hour trip going to Brgy. Kapatagan, Digos. We rented a taxi kaya lang na flat ang tire nya. O di ba, totoong adventure. Fortunately, there is this red Strada and they were veerryyy kind enough to give us a lift. At the foot of Camp Sabros, it’s either you hike up, or you ride the habal habal (motor bike). We each had our own ride for P30. We are so excited so we need to reach the camp immediately.

We availed the P500 package: 3 ziplines and 1 rappeling. It was an amazing experience! I got to fly like superman. Firstly, you will be zipping as a pair. Nabingi yung kasama ko. Ako lang ang sumisigaw. You will be brought back to the starting area by a cable. On the 2nd ride, you can now go alone. Siempre nakakahiya ng sisigaw pa ako. Upon reaching the other side of the mountain, you will be hiking to the area for the last zip line, which is the highest and the fastest one.

Enjoy the pictures, enjoy the view.

Amazing Davao - Wild Water Rafting

Of all the places I have been to, i have always wanted to go back to Davao. So right after the convention we have attended, we did not pass the chance to try out things we might not do again in our lifetime.

Just a day earlier, we tried contacting the office ((082)3012020) to reserve ourselves slot for this adventure. We are not really sure what we are getting into. We have always been on the safe side. But we thought, What the heck! Let's have a whole new experience!

We left Waterfront Hotel at around 7am. Because we still have to leave our thing at Tita Hilda's place. It's about 20 minute ride. We are to go to the Crocodile Park (the assembly area) and join other members for the briefing of about 30minutes. while waiting, you will be signing a waiver.

A trip to the river will take about 1.5 hr. It can be a time to get to know other members of the group. Arriving at the starting area for this ride, we were briefed on what to expect, but they won't tell you everything. You just have to experience the Ride!

See the pictures below to have a peek. Grabe ang saya!!!!
